Ch. Vagabond Red Tiger Lily MW, JE

Red is the adored pet of our youngest daughter, Danielle. Danielle was just 5 years old when her sister, Maddie bred her Champion “Smoochie” to LK’s “Dino” and produced our first “Vagabond” litter. Red was special since the moment she was born “wagging her tail”. Danielle spent the better part of the next 3 years building an incredibly strong bond with her special “red dog”. Beginning in the show ring the following spring (’07), not yet old enough for “Junior Showmanship”, this littlest team just had to play with “the big kids”. Though we all helped finish Redy’s championship, Danielle & Red’s “moment of glory” came when they won the Columbine Dachshund Club Specialty Show in 2009 going Winners Bitch for the final major win needed ….Red became Champion Vagabond Red Tiger Lily MW! A month later, Danielle owner-handled Red to her Junior Earthdog title! Ch. Vagabond Red Tiger Lily MW, JE….. What a TEAM!

Red’s sister, Ivy (Vagabond Stargazer) also earned her AKC Championship. An accomplished first try for Vagabond aspirations!

For Red’s first litter Danielle chose a lovely mini smooth from south of the border in New Mexico. Ch. Jazzi I’m Smokin’ V Ruf Knaube (HP30981301). Smokey gave us 5 lovely pups that Danielle named for the infamous vampires of the “Twilight Series”, Jacob, Sam, Emily and Alice. We retained Emily & Jake for future generations of the Vagabond/Red Ruby lines. Emmy has now earned 2 points, 2 wins toward her own championship solely under Danielle’s capable tutelage!

Our second “Red Ruby” breeding is now on the ground (DOB 5/2/12). Sired by esteemed AKC Ch. Tievoli Rumors Oh Hail Yeah MW (HP37668901). Please see our “pups section” to follow this litter!

Wow, so much time has passed since tiny little Maddie searched show sites for a dog just her size! No more being pulled around by Momma’s big dumb Goldens!
